Fourth Of July Nail Art Ideas

I did these for the Flag challenge day of Californails July challenge on Instagram. I plan on doing more of the July challenge so if you want to see more up to date nail art from me follow me there @nailbybayles. Back to my flag inspired nail art. For this nail look I used all China Glaze polishes. I started with my regular base coat, China glaze Strong Adhesive Base Coat, and then painted two coats of White On White. Then added some Fast Forward Top coat to speed up drying time. Once that was dry I applied 4 pieces striping tape starting about a third of the way down. And painted the top with Man Hunt and the bottom stripes with Salsa and immediately removed the tape. I individually placed the Glitter (or Stars) on the blue. And finished with a thick coat of top coat.

Colors for Flag Nail Art

For these simple 4th of July dot nails I started with the same base coat. Once that dried I painted two coats of China Glaze White On White. Using a dotting tool I added rows of dots starting with Opi Red Lights Ahead...Where? then Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Blue Me Away and China Glaze Icicle (pictured). When placing the dots I made sure to place the dots on the next row in between the dots of the previous row. I waited for as long as I could and finished with a thick coat of top coat.

I hope you liked my two fourth of July nail art ideas. If you recreate any of my nail art tag me so I can see them. And If you have any nail art requests leave a comment here or on my Instagram.
Have A Great Fourth of July!

Marie From The Aristocats Nail Art

If you follow me on instagram you know that this month I am doing Californails June Nail Art Challenge. I did her August Challenge last year and thought it would be fun to do one again. I started late and never did the sky challenge so these are my first nails of the challenge. The challenge was Disney and after looking up different Disney movies for awhile I choose to do Marie from The Aristocrats because shes so cute and apparently I really liked the movie when I was little.

To go along with Marie I painted some flowers because I didn't really like the background of any of the pictures of Marie.

Inocente Izucar Inspired Nail Art

I was watching a Glass Posse vlog a little while ago were they went to Inocente's art show in New York. I have never heard of her before but it turns out she was the subject of a documentary which won an Academy Award for Best Documentary Short. Her art that I saw in the vlog looked amazing and I knew I wanted to paint one of her pictures on my nails.

Her painting I choose was shown fully in the vlog and I thought would look really cool as nail art. The colors and everything are not exactly like her painting but am happy with the way it turned out. To get the colors for the girls hair I sponged each color individually. The hardest part was obviously the eye with all those swirls coming down and the tiny eyelashes. It seemed like it took for ever to finish.

Firefly Nail Art

I was in a summer mood right after finishing this semester and wanted to paint some flowers in a painted mason jar. When I sat down to paint my nails I got the idea to paint fireflies in a jar. I looked for a picture and found the perfect one you can find it by searching lightning bugs in a jar.

On my ring finger is a jar sitting in the grass with fireflies in it and some flying out onto my middle and index fingers.

Neon Geometric Nail Art

I came up with the idea for these nails awhile ago. When I was bored and started drawing designs out in my swatch book. So when I had no idea what I wanted to paint I could look in there and choose one. This was the best one I came up with that day.

First painted my nails white, then added striping tape for the triangles. Next I painted the outside of the tape black and sponged silver over it. But once I took the tape off you could see some black and silver on the white. So it may be easier to just paint the white on after the black and silver. After I fixed the white I outlined it in black and put the neon dots on. And finished It off with top coat.

Silly Faces Nail Art

Wow its been a month since I've posted on here. If you want to keep more up to date with my nail art you should follow my Instagram. I'm trying to paint my nails every week but i get distracted. Good news though this semesters almost over which means summer and more nail art.

For these nails i got my inspiration from another shutterstock photo. They're really good for when you don't know what to paint. I found one with a ton of different faces on it and knew i wanted to uses some of them and I have never seen anyone else do something like it. The most difficult part was the eyes because I couldn't keep them round or the same thickness.

Colors Used:
Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Hard To Get
Orly Liquid Vinyl

Sorry about the bad pictures. I've started using an actual camera and not my iPad like the pictures used in most of my other post. So I'm still trying to figure out where the best place for lighting is and on this day it was too cold to go outside.

Do you like the font I used for the watermark? I have tried many and am to indecisive to pick one.

(yes they are flowers not fireworks) And I but three dots of glitter in the middle just because i like glitter.

Colors Used:
China Glaze- Re-Fresh Mint, Recycle, Fast Forward Top Coat, Strong Adhesive Base Coat
